New here. Need help with choosing cage for boyfriend.

Post by Jesissycan27 »

Hi everyone. My boyfriend of six months told me that he is interested in this chastity kink. I’ve been looking at this forum for two weeks now and decided to join. I didn’t know anything about chastity before he told me about it. To be honest, I didn’t understand it at first. He always jokingly says that it will “give me powers” and I think I know what he means now. I understand that chastity cages are something he wants me to buy for him. What I didn’t know is that there are many types and I’m not sure what to get him. What type should I buy him?

There are guides online on how to measure for a chastity cage. You should read those and follow the instructions to find the size in both the base ring and length. Then I would suggest buying a cage off of eBay or Amazon or some such sight. They are relatively inexpensive so you with be able to find one you both like before having to invest in a good cage.

Lastly, if you are going to be your boyfriend’s keyholder, there are several good books on the topic. I would say to read them so you go into this eyes wide open. And still it will be a journey of discovery for the two of you. Enjoy. It really can be something fun and intimate.

It’s great that you’re willing to try this out for your boyfriend. Don’t be afraid of finding what works for you and make sure you’re having fun with it.
This is a mature and helpful forum so don’t be afraid of asking questions.
Mad for what cage you should buy do what Sam said. Measure, measure, measure.
Buy some cheap cages and be prepared for them to fit rather poorly. Not because you they are cheap, but everyone’s anatomy is different.
Then adjust and buy a few more cheap cages.
It shouldn’t take long before you know what works for him and you and then you can order a more expensive cage if you want.
I’m locked and kept by Redraven, my life partner, soulmate and loving key holder. When life is hard, she’s keeps me feeling loved.

Welcome!

One thing to bear in mind is that however well you measure, you may have fitting problems early on. I think it's probably true that most people over estimate their length, and add a bit to the cage length. This allows space for growth, and can be painful. It is better to measure a few times over a couple of days, and then reduce the cage size from the smallest measurement. How much you reduce is up to you - some say about 10-15mm, others say up to 50% of the shaft length. Some people on this forum are around 7cm flaccid length, but are in 2cm cages for some of the time.

Another thing is that measuring which ring to order is very difficult. Using the piece of string method seems to over inflate the size you actually need. Ball gap is important, as too big a gap and testicles will fall out, too small a gap and there will be pain when it gets cold.

It is important to keep an eye on the fit, and check regularly for cuts or abrasions. There's a lot of loose skin down there, and it can get caught or rubbed raw. It will take about a week to heal, depending on how bad it is. You may need to let your man out of his cage while it heals over. This "kink" is about control of your man, not physically harming him.

With regards to type I would strongly suggest an open type which helps cleaning, either with a jet in the shower or cotton buds, this way I can keep things clean for a week or.more between removal.

As for length, according to the website I should be in something 8cm long, however my longest is 4.5 cm and shortest just 0.4cm, all are comfortable but feel very different and create very difference sensations.

We started with a cheap plastic cage (cb6000 copy) which came with a range of ring sizes, that way I found the right ring for me, and ive stuck with that ever since, i did try smaller once but it was pretty uncomfortable and lasted half an hour before my balls went dark red.

My wife and I prefer steel now, for suppliers it depends where you are, in the UK House of Denial is good, in the US people seem to find Ternance good, both do good quality cages at reasonable prices, theres no need to spend heaps on a cage. I have several from HoD and can wear them all comfortably (if frustratedly);long term.

Its wonderful that your keen to take on this amazing kink with him, make sure its fun and you both gain from it.

There's lots of good and useful advice on this site and helpful folks too. The help you will get here is better than what you will find on websites that are trying to sell you something. Some websites, of course, are better than others.

About a year ago, I got some advice on here that turned out to be spot on, although I have refined that advice in the light of experience. But the help I got led me to ditch the first cage that we had tried (a CB6000S) and try something quite different.

The advice was simply “smaller is better”. Measure the flaccid penis, subtract 25-30%, and use that as the cage length. It was suggested that I tried either the Cobra Nano or the Cobra Nub. In the end, my wife chose for me, going for the (shorter) Nub. It's big enough to enclose the head of the penis and that's it. And it is so comfortable and easy to get on with. Also does its job very well indeed.

I said I refined the advice in the light of experience. A conclusion that I have recently arrived at is that whilst generally it's true that you can go smaller and smaller, sometimes the smallest possible is not always best. Not for everyone anyway. I would now say that “too small is better than too big”. In other words, err on the side of “too small”. Don't allow too much room for expansion, although a little room can be used to (the keyholder's) advantage.

I would definitely recommend trying one of the Cobra designs. One benefit is that they come with a selection of rings so you can experiment to find the best fit.

Once you've got the fit right and become used to the Cobra, if that's what you do, you will have a better idea about choosing sizes for rings and cages if you want something else, such as a steel cage. An open-style steel cage is easier to keep clean (in my experience) and so can be worn for longer.

I now have three steel cages (from 2.0cm to 3.8cm) from House of Denial steel and all three are very good. All get used. The Cobra Nub also still gets used though, and offers its own unique benefits. Rotating between the four keeps it interesting for both of us!

If you need any more details, just ask.

Good luck.
