We have the security screw. I find it has quite a few benefits. For one thing the cage is much more stable. There is no play between the cage and base ring. Also, it is much slimmer and there is never an issue with it showing under clothing. If the screw is properly tightened it is secure. Of course, since I asked for enforced chastity, why would I try to escape?

I really do need to have hubby write that blog post about the security screws.

Our screws do not stick out the other side but a teenie bit and wouldnt be able to grab it with anything.

However, it will, after a few days, wiggle it's way backward a thread or two and hubby just tightens it his fingers. To avoid this backing out problem we just clean the screw threads to remove the body oils and other gunk that gets in them. I use a little rubbing alcohol and it keeps the screw nice and snug.

We still prefer the screw over the lock because I don't have to worry about the bulk of the lock our it hurting me if I want to rub on the cage and drive hubby crazy! :)

We use an inexpensive ultrasonic jewelry cleaner to keep the screw and the cage clean. We had exactly the same issue with it loosening until we got the cleaner.

My first JB from MM was purchased with the security screw. I used it with a lock for a while, which I will admit was easier to take on and off but the lock does stick out a bit from the cage and it did rattle. My wife did not like me wearing it when we cuddled at night.

When I started out I ordered both the 1&3/4" ring as well as the 1&5/8 ring. I started with the larger ring for approx. 2 months and then transitioned to the smaller ring which I wore for approx. a year. After a year of the 1&5/8" ring I noticed it was getting loose on me. I just recently transitioned to a new 1&9/16" double ring. With all three rings I have not had any issue with the screw coming loose.

Both Lady M and Tame Lion have indicated they solved the problem with the loose screw by cleaning the screw threads. If that doesn't work just a small piece of Teflon plumbers tape on the screw should fix it.

Other posts in this topic indicate that the screw can be removed with other tools. If I really wanted to on my original JB I probably could have used either a pair of pliers or vice grips to grab the exposed head of the screw to remove it. There is an option to get the screw head counter sunk which would prevent someone from being able to grab the screw head. You have to indicate which side of the device that you want the head to be on, and the hole on that side would be the size of the screw head so that the screw head would end up right to the post. I got a second JB (smaller diameter and length to cage) with the counter sunk hole. Both the cages with or without the counter sunk hole for screw head are secure and do not rotate on the post.

As "Tame Lion" said

I couldn't agree more.

If this is your first custom cage I would also suggest you try the sizing rings to get the diameter of the cage and the ring right the first time. I went from a CB6ks to the JB and used the sizes from that to make my decision on what size to order. I used the sizing rings before ordering the second cage and it certainly helps to be more certain on what to order. Both Mistress M and William from MM are very helpful if you have any questions before you order.

Forgot to add, if you get the security screw countersunk you cannot use a lock with it, you must use the screw.

Interesting. Mine has never worked loose and only protrudes a tiny bit, certainly not enough to grab with pliers. The screw is 3/8" long. Did you buy yours a long time ago?

Before I bought my WM with the security screw --- just this past May --- I corresponded with M MM on the subject via email. She said that they have had issues with it, but they thought that they are now resolved. So I took a chance. So far, so good.

If you email her about your problem, she may be able to send a replacement screw.
Yes, it was a while ago. I have talked to them about it and they have some solutions but when I sent my ring back to them for resizing along with a note to do something about the screw, I got the ring back with the same screw. Looks like they attempted to countersink the screwhead but after 2-3 days it works its way loose like LadyM says. I also tighten it with my fingers since we are not focused on security as much as we are on orgasm denial.

I have a SS .44 mag revolver that has an issue with screws loosening up, a bit of nail polish (clear) cures it.

Same as TwistedMister, I clean the screw and then put a coat of clear nail polish on the thread and it stays nice and tight.

Screw (or rather a bolt or Clevis pin) and security seal for me. Easily removed in an emergency yet obvious if tampered with.
