Steelworxx PA Lock for MM Device?

Post by HeldForHer »

I'm wondering if this could be used to lock an MM device...

Dimensionally the 3mm (.118") should work. The hole in the MM is a little larger than .125".

If I did the conversion right this lock would be $165, US. I think I would measure the hole on my device before placing an order. A few small drill bits would give you a good Idea.

I wonder if it could be designed so that it could make the turn with the lock at the bottom. i.e., not sideways like normal padlocks.

Possible if the diameter is wider I guess.

Before I dropped that kind of cash I would email William at MM to see what he thinks.

It certainly would be a more secure lock than a $6.00 padlock but I'm not so sure it would make the bend so that it sits with the mechanism at the bottom.

I'm intrigued, so keep us posted as to what you find.

If it's not an absolute must to have one of Steelworx's keyhole-blocker locks then a less expensive alternative is one my PA Locks. The cylinder on my lock is 3/8" wide, and I offer the hasp in two lengths though it can be modified to another length if you think it'd work better for you...

Thanks all!

Yep, I'll ask MM.

mcn, what is the radius on that PA lock? Or the spacing on the "U" post?
