I like the cobra because the open plastic cages still offer plenty of space to clean while mostly minimizing actual touch ability.

I don't agree that they need to be removed frequently for cleaning... Unless every few months is considered frequent?

@Atone is out of his cage very rarely and keeps himself very clean in my opinion.

Enclosed steel may well be better, I’ve only tried enclosed plastic to be honest !!

Tried a ball hook and it was a total failure. Your mileage may vary !!

My favorite is an open design metal cage. It sold through Terrance on Amazon. I have tried cheap plastic and it started smelling after two days. I tried a cheap silicon and I could easily pull out of it.

I am considering buying a M&M jailbird later in the year.
