Women don't want gender equality. If they did 50% of the people building high rise buildings, fixing the power grid at midnight during a winter storm, constructing roads and bridges, or laying bricks, would be women. But there isn't a big line of women trying to do any of that. The simple reason, they don't want to.
Men and women are different, for good reason.
Equal rights under the law? Of course. Equal opportunity to make choices for themselves? Sure. Equality in every aspect of life? Impossible.
Our daughter in law has a sign at the front entrance of their house that says " women's rights are human rights". It looks like a headline ripped from the newspaper "duh".
