My first reaction is to be slightly insulted but... Its a fair question and maybe it really is a part of this but not quite what you might think.... In this case (Again - no one we ahh... know) the man felt that him masturbating was not useful to making the relationship better so the answer is little to none. Another part that maybe important to this example - The wife suggested this (Take care of yourself) but....
