I almost got caught at a physical. My previous PCP was a MD, and got replaced by a NP...I had not been informed of the change, it was a surprise. The MD had never done a 'below the belt inspection'. I changed providers after that. Not because of the event, but because our insurance is expensive- I am paying for a certain level of care and a NP doesn't meet the standard I'm paying for. NPs have their place, but they can't replace a MD.
