Sizing solid rings vs hinged rings

Post by Nsfrl »

I determined a 50mm ring would probably be best for my first unit, then realized the unit I am ordering has a hinged ring.

My question is, without the fear of the ring preventing blood from escaping due to the hinged nature of the ring, does all the advice regarding slipping a finger under it when flacid and a pinky finger to first joint when aroused still apply.

Were those "rules of thumb" more to prevent injury during arousal or for comfort?

Even if you have a hinged ring, if it's too small it can be extremely painful and cause bruising and lacerations during nocturnal erections. If the key is available, you can get immediate relief with the hinged ring. With a solid ring, you have to first eliminate the erection before you can get it off.
