Going metal soon

Post by prthomas »

I already have the sizing rings from MM, but I am taking my time in ordering. I am curious to hear from those who went from a CB6Ks to either a MMJB or MMWM:

If you are a grow-er (instead of a show-er)...
1) Did you find that you no longer needed to apply lube on a daily basis to the shaft and head to keep it from getting stuck midway in the tube for urination? This is not as big of a problem for show-ers, but a huge problem for grow-ers like me.

2) Do you have any problems aligning things without having to use a q-tip for urinating? Can you still use the stand-up urinals in the restroom?

3) When your penis is at its smallest size, does it want to slip out of its cage at all?

4) If you use the lock instead of the screw, is the cage looser and subject to movement? Also, with the lock on, is it harder to spoon with your KH? (I have a hard time spooning with my wife because the corners of the lock can cut and scrape into my wife backside.)

5) In general, is spooning more comfortable for your KH in a metal device?

Thanks, in advance, for your answers.

1) The only lube I ever used on my jailbird or pet trap was just one drop around the base ring, never on the shaft. I have switched to using baby powder on my sac and inner thigh area to cut down on rubbing. I haven't used any lube for about a month now. Not sure how this will play out with the weather getting warmer though.

2) I found the jailbird a lot easier to line up than the pet trap (similar to the WM). I could pee standing up with little difficulty in either one though.

3) No, this was never a problem.

4) I used a lock for 3 or 4 months with a jailbird. It was as tight if not tighter than the screw. I would put the lock on and then fold it down flat, that would add tension to the whole joint where they come together. I would then use a really small nylon wire tie to hold the lock flat so it could flip up. This was mostly because the lock would create a strange lump that I was afraid might be noticeable when it was flipped up. I used a sanding drum in a dremel tool to smooth out all the corners and edges on the lock. I suspect that the lock will not be too comfortable for your wife while you try to spoon her.

5) I couldn't say, my wife doesn't really like to spoon while I am locked up. She doesn't like the 'hardness' of the device against her.

Are you considering any metal devices other than from mature metal? If so I would definitely look at steelworxx.de and the steelheart in particular. You can get one with the integrated lock for about the same price as a jailbird / WM. As much of an improvement the jailbird was over the CB-3000 (for me) the steelheart is over jailbird. The fit, finish, and comfort just that much better.

Good luck with whatever you go with.

Huzzah! A convert! ;)

But Atone, what about hygiene? Isn't the Steelheart, with its closed tube, so very much more icky than the Jail Bird? That's what everyone says, anyway...

yes, I am definitely a convert (among many 'verts').

The steelheart does take a bit more effort to keep clean but it is very manageable. I was in for 9 days last time with no problems. It has been 9 days since then and I will probably go at least until this weekend before I remove it for a bit of an inspection. If everything is good I will probably not worry about it after that unless I feel something might be wrong.

I agree that the Steelheart looks the best and I really like the integrated lock. It would be my first choice except for the fact that I am rather short in my flaccid state. Hence my biggest issue with the CB6Ks tube is that it is still too long. I always have to use a q-tip and keep the shaft and head lubed so I can properly position things to use the bathroom.

I think if you're a show-er, the Steelheart is a better choice from that perspective. The main reason I'm going with something from MM is because Bill will make it as short as I need it to be.

I was thinking of getting a steelworxx braveheart but ended up getting a jailbird instead. I have to say that the customer service at Mature Metal iss crazy good and they will hook you up with whatever you need. The jailbird is also supposedly lighter than the steelheart which influenced by decision as well as the JB's ability to stay clean. Also, I'm not sure how secure a steelheart is without a PA piercing. I'd love to hear about that. I'd immagine the smooth steel would back pull-out pretty easy.

I am too, definitely a grower. My jailbird was 1 1/8 diameter and 2 1/4 length. I am 1 3/4 and 6 when fully erect.

Steelworxx can make a device shorter than they list on the web. Mine is 31mm diameter and the tube is 57mm long. It is almost exactly the same as the jailbird. Talk (email) to Dietmar, he can probably make what you need.

I don't think there is any difference in security. If any thing the steelheart would be more difficult for me to get back in to if I did pull it out. It is not going to just slip out on it's own.

My steelheart is almost exactly the same size as my jailbird. It actually weighs a little less. 170 grams with the integrated lock. The jailbird is 175g with the padlock.

Also, I almost forgot, customer service has been great with both Mature Metal and steelworxx. Seeing I am in the US everything is quicker with MM when I did need to send stuff back (and a little less expensive).

I'm certainly not putting down MM I really like the devices I got from him. So far every device I have has prepared me for the next. I probably could have skipped some of them but could not have gone straight to the steelheart.

I probably should put some of them up in the classifieds, maybe could help someone else out too.

That's interesting. I would have expected the SH to be heavier. I should weigh mine and see how they compare..that is, if the SH ever comes off again. :?
