Cyclopentasiloxane

That burning feeling is NOT normal! I'm apparently allergic to Cyclopentasiloxane, at least when used with a CB-6000. Cyclopentasiloxane is the main ingredient in both JO Premium and Swiss Navy silicon lube, and also one of the ingredients in J&J Baby Gel. I've used one of these three products almost since day one two months ago, and I would always get this really nasty burning feeling around the A-ring that started about 15 minutes after I put the device on, and that never completely subsided. At around the 24 hour mark, it would get to be too much and I would take the device off to discover a nice big red welt, or worse. I didn't think it was a reaction because as soon as I took the device off, the burning went away, and well, because I've used silicon lube in the past for its intended application (ahem) with no ill effect.

Anyway, by switching to a non-silicon lube, I've managed to make it past 48 hours with the main discomfort being a tolerable dull ache.

(It took a comment by Dev to make me realize that maybe there was some sort of reaction going on. Thanks Dev!)

Glad you figured that out. I seem to be the exception but I rarely us any lube at all even when I was in my CB3000. When I occasionally have discomfort I use a silicone lube called Pjur, not sure what the ingredient is.

I am glad you figured that out Shane. What you were describing did sound like an allergy to me. On top of that there was a letter to Dan Savage where the guy had discovered he was allergic to a certain kind of lube and thus anal sex was always excruciatingly painful. After years of discomfort (or forgoing his preferred kind of sex) he finally figured it out. Glad you did too. BTW some folks can be allergic to certain kinds of condoms or the lube in them. Just an FYI.

Ab doesn't like lube. He prefers baby powder. He tells me the lube stings. Maybe he is allergic too!

Gold Bond unscented lotion. Thick, long-lasting, and easily washable.

Careful, 'cause there's another Gold Bond that's like mild Icy-Hot. Wouldn't want to confuse the two...

Yes, the "medicated" variety is quite refreshing...

Ah yes, I fondly recall a bicycle ride across Iowa back in '99. The low temperature for the week was 94 and that was during a Wednesday night rainstorm. That "refreshing" gold bond medicated powder kept me on the bike and off the seat for most of 2 days.
