Porn is like the old Greek mythological siren. It calls out with seduction, but traps and kills you. Maybe not physically, but emotionally and mentally. Do all you can to avoid it.

Personally it's the casual and often sadistic violence that you find in mainstream entertainment that upsets me.

Films, television, books and games. Terrible acts of violence seem to attract much lower age ratings than a pair of naked breasts. Just think about what can and can't be shown on TV.

Yes porn can often be dehumanising, but that's the fault of the production, not the subject matter. With porn is is difficult to locate high quality, truly erotic material, but do all you can to find it.

I don't think that the dehumanization is really the big danger with it. It's that you condition yourself to fantasize about something or someone that is not real. You become so conditioned to responding to fantasy that you can't be pleased with reality.

Most guys don't indulge in porn simply because they admire the female form. They indulge in porn because it gives them a fantasy world where they can have a woman who is sexually ideal. A woman who is excited and eager about sex, who is willing to try anything, and receives immense pleasure from sexual acts.

After letting your mind wander for long periods of time in these fantasies, it becomes difficult to accept that a real woman is not thrilled with your every sexual whim. Real women get tired, or sick, or get pregnant, or have resentful feelings toward you for things you did years ago that they won't forgive you for. Real women are unpredictable and confusing. Porn women are just fantasies.
